1) For Postion-Time graphs the type of motion is velocity and the positive/negative state of the velocity is the displacement. Whe the graph crosses the x axis the object is turning around. This did happen during the lab because for many exercises we had to move backwards after moving forwards.

2) For Velocity-Time graphs the motion that takes place is acceleration. When the line crosses the x axis the object is changes direction. This occurred while we were investigating in our lab when we had to trace one of the graphs. The graph went to -.5 m/s and to take account for this we walked backwards.
